ELEVATEATL: A Night at the Pearl

  • Pearl Cleage & Zaron Burnett Center for Culture and Creativity 945 Ralph David Abernathy Boulevard Southwest Atlanta, GA, 30310 United States (map)

The West End neighborhood has a history of survival, one of the few neighborhoods remaining after the Civil War, the West End evolved into a Civil Rights stronghold and a shining example of Black Cooperative Economics.  Home to Black businesses, entrepreneurs, artisans and families the West End is balancing it’s legacy and widespread gentrification.  How does the new West End fit within “Old Atlanta”?

Join us for our first movie screening at the Pearl Cleage & Zaron Burnett Center for Culture & Creativity. We are starting off strong with Live at Club Zebra followed by a discussion between Pearl Cleage and Zaron Burnett, and the filmmakers, The Palette Brothers, moderated by Dr. N’Kosi Oates.
