NPU-T Leads at APAB!

We’re incredibly proud to share that NPU-T’s very own Lisa Stines was recently elected Vice President by her fellow NPU leaders at the Atlanta Planning Advisory Board (APAB). Congratulations, Lisa, on this well-deserved (and unanimous) recognition of your leadership! Lisa is also President of NPU-T’s Just Us Neighborhood Association, and a passionate and longstanding advocate for ensuring that neighborhoods get a seat at the table when it comes to making the decisions that affect them the most.

At its July meeting, APAB approved its 2025–2028 Strategic Plan, which lays out a clear path for making Atlanta’s planning process more open, community-driven, and accountable.

What’s in the Plan?

Here are the big priorities APAB will focus on over the next three years:

  • Accountability in City Plans – making sure city promises match results and that neighborhoods have a voice in how plans are carried out.

  • Stronger Civic Engagement – helping more residents learn about and shape planning decisions that affect their communities.

  • Participatory Budgeting – giving Atlantans a direct say in how some city funds are spent.

  • Advisory Strength – building APAB’s visibility and influence so neighborhood voices carry further at City Hall.

This new plan is all about ensuring that Atlanta grows in ways that reflect the priorities of its residents. With leaders like Lisa Stines helping to guide the way, we’re excited to see what’s ahead for APAB and our neighborhoods!

APAB meets the third Saturday of each month at City Hall at 10AM. Meetings are open to the public.
